Super Junior’s Siwon has been chosen to be a representative of the Korean Committee of UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on November 12, in Jongno-gu, Central Seoul.
The honour bestowed is hardly surprising as UNICEF and Siwon go way back, with Siwon being an active supporter since 2010 when he was part of the campaign to eradicate AIDS. In 2013, he took part in the “Santa campaign,” and last year he was part of the “Pop Coin campaign." This year, of course, he helped spread awareness for the “Nepal Bracelet” campaign to raise funds for those affected by the earthquake in Nepal.
Upon being named representative, Siwon said that it was an honour and privilege. “From henceforth I hope to do more so that every child in the world can be happy,” he said.
