Hikaru Utada is returning after a 6-year break.

According to Utada Hikaru's father, Terazune Utada, preparations for the singer's upcoming album is going swimmingly. Days ago, Terazune tweeted, "I think it can be said that the album's production is going well." 

But don't get too excited just yet, there is no date set for the album's release date.

What we know so far is that a single for the NHK drama will be released in line with the show's airing on April 4.

After a long hiatus, singer Hikaru Utada is set to return with a new song. What’s more, the song will be the theme song for NHK drama “Toto Neechan.”

Through SNS Hikaru said that she was just about wrapping up the song’s lyrics.

In 2010, Hikaru withdrew from the world of entertainment. Since then she’s become a wife and mother.
