With Kris Wu (Yi Fan) in the bill, we aren't surprised that the Chinese film “The Mermaid” is now the highest-grossing film in China. Having racked up 2.49 billion Yuan ($527 Million AUD) in just 12 days, the film overtook the “Monster Hunt" which previously took 58 days to secure the coveted place at the Chinese box office.

The  chart topping rom-com is about a mermaid assassin and a business man that fall in love in the unlikeliest circumstances. Directed by Stephen Chow. It stars Deng Chao, Zhang Yuqi and of course, Kris Wu.

Here’s the trailer.

There were also off-camera shenanigans involving Kris in a robe.
