Let's take a look back at some of our favourite gay comic pairings!
25 Feb 2016 - 5:37 PM  UPDATED 2 Mar 2018 - 5:03 PM

These are our top 10 gay pairings from the wonderful world of comics! Some find love, some went their separate ways, but these couples will forever be etched into our memory.

10. Moondragon and Phyla-Vell

Moongdragon can be a little controlling at times –she can’t help it, she’s telepathic, but that doesn't mean she can't find someone to love. No doubt, Moondragon’ s most “significant” relationship in the Marvel Universe is with Phyla-Vell, daughter of Captain Vam-Vell.

9. Mystique and Destiny.

Even their names sound perfect together. One can change forms the other can see the future. Together with their daughter, they make one happy family.

8. Yusuke Ono and Chikage (Antique Bakery).

Yusuke Ono and Chikage Kobayakawa are adorable both in manga and film form. You could say something other than cakes, was cookin' in the kitchen.

7. Hulkling and Wiccan

Fans rejoiced when the Young Avengers’ Hulkling and Wiccan finally shared their first kiss back in 2012.

It was the first time that two male superheroes shared a kiss in the Marvel franchise.

6. Colossus and Northstar

Colossus had always had a thing for Northstar, and while the latter ends up marrying someone else, it was beautiful while it lasted.

5. Shuichi Shindou and Eiri Yuki (Gravitation)

You can’t have Yaoi (male love) manga without this title. Published in the mid 90s, Shuichi Shindou is a musician who falls for tall, brooding Eiri Yuki who is also a romance novelist. Sigh.

4. Midnighter and Apollo

Another tumultuous love affair in the DC universe. Midnighter and Apollo have their differences but those differences also balance them out.

3. Batwoman & Renee Montoya

Partners in work and life, these two juggle romance and crimes as a duo.

2) Haruka Tenou (Sailor Uranus) and Michiru Kaioh (Sailor Neptune)

In a series consisting mostly of females, this pairing was not all that surprising.

1. Northstar and Kyle

Marvel made headlines in 1992 with the introduction of a Canadian superior who was also gay. In 2012, Alpha Fight and X-men hero Northstar finally wed his long-term partner Kyle in “Astonishing X-Men #51.”
