In a rare move, Studio Ghibli has made an anime for a commercial company, an energy company to be exact. To be fair, the company wanted the anime to emphasise its shift towards low-pollution and renewable energy sources.

Meanwhile, the designs are based on the picture scrolls called the Choju Jinbutsu Giga, or "Scrolls of Frolicking Animals," one of the earliest examples of manga in Japanese history.

The designs date back to the 12th century, but there is nothing outdated about the animation itself.

Of course we are still anticipating the release of Ghibli's European animation "The Red Turtle."
