Why are visual novels becoming popular in the west?

As much as I am an avid viewer of anime, I also do enjoy my anime games. And the king of all anime games is none other than visual novels. While some people will criticize it as being mere “books with pretty pictures” rather than an actual sophisticated game, one thing is certainly clear; they’re becoming more and more popular.

In today’s video, I discuss the possible reasons behind the huge boom of visual novels (especially in the Western gaming community) as well as answering some fundamental questions about what exactly visual novels are and why they appeal to many people.
