Perfume holds off the competition to top Nikkei Entertainment's Girl Group Ranking again!

Perfume has topped Nikkei Entertainment's Girl Group Ranking for the fourth year running!

Undoubtedly helped by the recent release of their new album, the J-pop trio held off competition from Momoiro Clover Z, who have now held second position for four years in a row. The rest of the top five is rounded off by AKB48, E-girls, and Nogizaka46.

For those curious about the Nikkei Enterainment's Girl Group rankings, here's the list of the top 15 J-pop girl groups:

  1. Perfume: 29.2 (Last year: #1 with 27.8)
  2. Momoiro Clover Z: 17.6 (Last year: #2 with 21.4)
  3. AKB48: 16.7 (Last year: #3 with 20.4)
  4. E-girls: 16.6 (Last year: #4 with 18.4)
  5. Nogizaka46: 13.6 (Last year: #5 with 11.4)
  6. NMB48: 10.0 (Last year: #6 with 10.8)
  7. HKT48: 9.0 (Last year: #8 with 10.5)
  8. Flower: 8.4 (Last year: #9 with 7.7)
