On June 16 the doors will officially open at mainland China’s very first Disneyland.

It’s the sixth Disney theme park to date and the $5.5 billion project promises a fantastical enchanted storybook castle right in the heart of Pudong Distruct, Shanghai.

But while the rest of us mere mortals will have to wait a whole month until we can experience the magic for ourselves, a few lucky individuals have been given exclusive access.

At the weekend 40,000 people were allowed into the park for a trail run and have kindly shared some amazing inside pictures on social media.

They got to enjoy the Alice in Wonderland maze, step inside the Marvel universe and wander through Shipwreck Shore.

Rides like the ultra-cool TRON Lightcycle Power Run and Soaring Over the Horizon were also given a run.

15 million visitors are expected to pass through the doors each year, bringing plenty of extra tourism to Shanghai.

And by the look of the people who have already experienced it, it should be a huge success!
