Apple CEO Tim Cook is making his way around China trying to wrestle back dipping sales in the mega region.

The usual CEO approach is to splash the cash around and of course, Cook is no stranger to this by spending up big and investing $US1 billion ($A1.37 billion) in Chinese ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing. This is a move he says will will help the company better understand the critical Chinese market.

But he’s also dedicated some of his China trip to rubbing shoulders with celebrities in an effort to boost the popularity of Apple’s range of apps.

Combine Singaporean singer JJ Lin, a skyscraper, the Beijing skyline and a GarageBand “battle” and you’ve got yourself a promotional dream. Cook and JJ become the world's weirdest musical duo as they use iPads to recreate JJ’s recent hit single “The Key”.


And let’s be real, what’s cooler than a desperate CEO enlisting the help of a younger, cooler celebrity to help ailing sales? You be the judge.
