VIXX have officially been together as a band for four years. They tweeted to all of their fans to celebrate the occasion.
The tweet says, “This is the image of VIXX who greeted their four-year anniversary. Thank you so much to all the Starlights who have been with us from the beginning until now!”
The Korean band has six members and is signed under Jellyfish Entertainment. The band was formed from the Mnet’s survival reality show MyDOL. The band members were voted by viewers through elimination rounds, their band name (VIXX) was also chosen by viewer votes.
Yesterday two band members Ravi and Leo collapsed on stage during a performance in Mexico. The other band members finished the show while Ravi and Leo were being treated. They have now cancelled the rest of their scheduled shows. Apparently the collapse was due to high altitude.
After the band’s lovely tweet to fans, here’s a look back at some of their highlights from the past four years.
Where it all began - The debut of their first single “Super Hero” in May 2012. Enough said.
The band was part of Jellyfish Entertainment’s first live concert “Jellyfish Live” at Tokyo’s Zepp Diver City in Japan. They performed here in September 2012.
In February 2015 the band became the first ever Korean artist to be invited to the KKBOX Music Awards at the Taipei Arena.
They won the SBS PopAsia Awards in 2015 for Best Male Group. The group tallied up 68 per cent of the votes beating the next most popular band – Got7 – by 53 per cent of votes.
They slayed BTS in a wrestling segment of Idol Star Athletics. In February this year the two bands went up against each other in a fierce battle but VIXX were victorious in defeating BTS.
Hopefully the VIXX members who collapsed are on the mend and the band will be back together soon. Wishing them all the best!
