Despite the fact that the audition show is broadcast by the same network, CJ Entertainment's new singing-survival show “Boys 24” is set to be different from its previous female counterpart, “Produce 101.”
According to the producers, the show that premiered on June 18th is different because the boys compete as sub-units to make it into the 24 member group at the end.
The winning 24 will also have a regular theater in Myeongdong, central Seoul, much like the AKB48 franchise in Japan and the winning team will be awarded 200 million won ($230,876) in record production fees.
In the premiere episode, 7 boys were selected as leaders of sub-units.
