Performing covers of songs are a common practice for music artists, particularly those who like to change things up in their performances. For K-pop groups, they like to kick things up a notch when they cover songs from fellow K-pop artists, and it usually results in an awesome performance that brings something new to the table.
From swapping songs to co-ed team-ups, here are 11 awesome times when a K-pop group or groups performed another group's song.
11. SEVENTEEN - Too many to count
SEVENTEEN seem to have made girl group covers part of their act!
10. Boys' Generation - Girls' Generation's "Gee"
Ah, 2010 was a simpler time when members of SHINee, 2AM, 2PM, and Super Junior would all get up on stage to perform a Girls' Generation song under the guise of "Boys' Generation"!
9. VIXX & Girl's Day - Trouble Maker's "Now"
You've seen Trouble Maker's "Now" be performed with one couple, now witness how awesome it is when performed by four couples!
8. WINNER - 2NE1's "Missing You"
Rather than go all out or go all goofy on their cover of 2NE1's "Missing You", Winner opts for stripped-down acoustic version - and it is brilliant.
7. Teen Top & Girl's Day - Psy's "Gentleman"
We're bending the rules a little here since Psy is technically a solo artist and not a group, but we - and many others - couldn't help but marvel at Teen Top and Girl's Day's awesome performance of "Gentleman"!
6. Mamamoo - Girl Group Medley
With vocals as well honed as Mamamoo's, why cover only one song when you can do a medley of them?
5. BTOB - Mamamoo's "You're The Best"
It's a little hard to imagine how a song performed by four women will translate to seven men, but BTOB do a great job of showing us how it would sound!
4. BIGBANG & Wonder Girls - "Lies" & "Tell Me"
Nothing like having two legendary K-pop groups performing each other's songs - and on the same stage no less!
3. BTS - Shinhwa's "Perfect Man"
Shinhwa's sound may not be BTS' usual cup of tea, but the boys manage to bring a fresh new take on an oldie!
2. TWICE & G-Friend swap songs
Seeing as how TWICE and G-Friend are two of the biggest K-pop girl groups at the moment, it makes perfect sense to get them to perform each other's songs (despite the differing member numbers)!
Here's TWICE's cover of G-Friend's "Me Gustas Tu":
As for G-Friend, they decided to cover TWICE's "Like Ooh-Ahh":
1. GOT7 - AOA's "Mini-Skirt"
There's GOT7 covering AOA's "Mini-Skirt" and then there's GOT7 covering AOA's "Mini-Skirt" whilst wearing mini-skirts. This is - hilariously for us - the latter:
