Someone needs to figure out how we can join these exclusive circle of celebrity friends

Is it still hip to say “Squad” (is it still hip to say hip? HELP). There are no shortages of celebrity friendships in the Asian entertainment world but these squads are serving some serious friendship goals. I think the question on everyone’s lips is: how can we join?

Nuthang Crew

This ultimate squad of 12 includes Korean celebs like BIGBANG members G-Dragon and T.O.P, History’s Kyungil and model/actor Lee Soo Hyuk. Make no mistake, this isn’t just an exclusive group of good looking people, it’s a legit circle of friends. "Nuthang" (pronounced New Thang) members were friends long before they became successful in their careers and some have known each other since childhood.

"Nuthang" crew has ties to other celebrities like BIGBANG (obviously), supermodel SooJoo, and 2NE1. Members Xin and Danny studied fashion together in London and earned a name for themselves after becoming 2NE1’s stylists. If you can’t use a sewing machine don’t fret, some "Nuthang" members are non-celebrities so there’s still a chance you can be part of this ridiculously cool group.

Chocoball Club

Founded by Super Junior’s Heechul, Chocoball means “a bit psychotic, but more charming by the day”. Celebrities in this club include Beast’s Junhyung, FT Island members HongKi and JongHyun, Epik High’s Mithra, Simon D and actor Jang Geun Suk.

Although most of the members share the same blood type A or AB, Heechul stated that anyone with an outgoing or strange personality is more than welcome to join. There you have it friends, straight from the lynchpin’s mouth – if you’re a crazy yet charming submit your application ASAP.

Check out the Chocoball squad in Heechul’s special project video “Shut your mouth”.

This new squad isn’t exactly official but thanks to online fans it actually has a name. Fans labeled this large group of celebrity friends "BYH48", a parody of J-Pop girl group AKB48. BYH is the initial of actor Byun Yo Han who is the pivotal member responsible for bringing together celebrities like EXO’s Suho, Winner’s Mino and actors Ji Soo, Ryu Jun Yeo, Lee Dong Hwi and many more. This squad might be a little harder to join but if you befriend king-pin Byun Yo Han then you just might have a chance.

You’ll often see this squad showcasing their bromance on social media, showing their support for each others projects and sharing photos of birthday celebrations.

91 Line

If you were born in 1991, then this is the squad you belong in. The "91 Line" was created by SHINee’s Key who found it difficult to make friends after debuting at a young age. Lucky for him he became close friends with other K-Pop idols after sharing the same green room during the filming of weekly music shows.

Despite having busy schedules, these K-Pop idols keep in touch through an online chat group and adhere the 91 Line special rule which is to attend the members’ birthday parties. The 91 Liner’s are SHINee’s Key, Girls Generation’s Seohyun, Jinwoon (former 2AM member), Nicole (former Kara member), Beast’s Dongwoon, MBLAQ’s Mir, Miss A’s Min and more. We don’t mind if we get rejected from this squad, an invitation to this star-studded birthday party will suffice.

Which celebs would you personally pick for your squad? What would you name it? Let us know below.
