It goes without saying that K-pop and C-pop have gained wider recognition over the past few years, and both industries are increasingly crossing over, with many K-pop artists promoting in China and Taiwan and vice-versa.
What this means for fans of either (or both) is that collaborations between K-pop and C-pop artists are now becoming more common, resulting in more awesome music.
So without further ado, here are eight awesome collaborations - in no particular order - between K-pop and C-pop artists!
8. 2PM's Junho & Qi Wei - "You're The Right One"
Perhaps it's the colourful MV, the chemistry between the two, or the lighthearted tone, but whatever it is, Junho and Qi Wei make a heck of a duo!
7. G. NA & Aaron Yan - "1/2 One Out Of Two"
This song is notable for two things - being the theme song of Taiwanese drama "Fall In Love With Me", and the electrifying combination of Aaron Yan and G. NA in a fancy, high-budget MV.
6. Miss A's Suzy & Show Lo - "Together In Love"
Given that Suzy and Show Lo are among the top stars in their respective industries, it was inevitable that these two would collaborate on something awesome. The result? A cute and romantic-themed tune that's as heartwarming as it is fun!
5. 2PM's Junho & Vanness Wu - "Undefeated"
This isn't Vanness Wu's first collaboration with a K-pop artist, but pairing up with 2PM's Junho resulted in something that was a bit softer - though no less awesome.
4. Running Man's Song Ji-hyo & Kenji Wu - "You're So Cute"
This was a surprise for everyone - Song Ji-hyo is predominantly known as an actress and for her "Running Man" shenanigans whilst Kenji Wu was one of Taiwan's biggest musicians who was on hiatus for three years before this song.
Needless to say, this was completely unexpected, but the end result was nothing short of a pleasant surprise!
3. CNBLUE's Jung Yong-hwa & JJ Lin - "Checkmate"
Probably one of the more notable collaborations in recent years, "Checkmate" was unique in that Jung Yong-hwa and JJ Lin sing their parts in their native language, which gives the song's theme of overcoming barriers that extra layer of meaning.
2. f(x)'s Amber & Danson Tang - "I'm Back"
Before Amber really hit it big with f(x), she and Taiwanese artist Danson Tang collaborated on this powerful and hard-hitting track. While Amber doesn't really feature too much in the MV, her distinctive rapping is definitely evident in the song!
1. Rain, Lim Jeong-hee, & Wang Leehom - "Perfect Harmony"
This one is an oldie but a goodie!
Featuring some of the biggest names (at the time) in K-pop and C-pop, much was expected from this collaboration. Though "Perfect Harmony" is a great song and all, it was unfortunately overshadowed by some of Wang Leehom's other tracks at the time.
