All good things must come to an end, and for first generation Nogizaka46 member Nanami Hashimoto, that end will come on her birthday next year.

During the October 19 "Nogizaka46 All Night Nippon" radio broadcast, it was revealed that the group's upcoming 16th single will be titled "Sayonara no Imi (The Meaning of Goodbye)" and will feature Nanami as the center. This proved to be some foreshadowing of what was to come, as Nanami then announced her intention to graduate from the group on her birthday, February 20, 2017. However, Nanami also stated that not only does she intend to graduate from Nogizaka46, she will also be retiring from the entertainment industry.

The idol stated that after being in the public eye since 2011, she wants to step back into a more private life free from public scrutiny.

It will be sad to see Nanami go, but we wish her the best of luck for her future endeavours!
