It probably goes without saying that the viral hit of 2016 has been the ridiculous (and ridiculously catchy) parody song "Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen (PPAP)". Written by Piko-Taro (alter-ego of comedian and DJ Daimaou Kosaka) in a matter of hours, not only has PPAP become a Guinness World Record holder that's racked up over 400 million views since its release in August, it has now also inspired a hit mobile app!

Titled "Pineapple Pen", this PPAP-inspired mobile game was released last month, and as suggested by the title (and by the song itself), the game simply involves taking a pen and throwing it at an apple and/or pineapple. But it appears that PPAP's viral magic extends far-and-beyond because "Pineapple Pen" has already become the UK's top used app (at the moment)!

For a game that's literally about sticking pens into pineapples and apples, the success of "Pineapple Pen" in the UK has been incredibly impressive. Jump on the "Pineapple Pen" bandwagon!
