Black Pink have recently made their highly-anticipated return with two new title songs - "Playing With Fire" and "Stay" - both of which revolve around love. Needless to say, these new tracks are a bit of a departure from "Whistle" and "Boombayah", and the group recently talked about where the inspiration for the songs came from.
In a new interview, Jennie discussed the inspiration behind "Playing With Fire", saying that while the song portrays love as "playing with fire", she hasn't had the experience yet and had to turn to fictional means to understand the song's emotional core:
"The song portrays love as playing with fire, but I never had such an experience so I turned to movies and dramas to understand the feelings of love."
Jisoo then explained that since all the Black Pink members are still young, they get their inspiration from second-hand experiences such as movies and dramas:
"All of us only had secondhand experiences. When we are in our dorms, we watch romance movies and dramas. When a romantic scene comes on, we hold on to each other and scream. Recently, we've been enjoying 'Incarnation of Jealousy'."
The interview then turned to what each Black Pink member deemed to be their ideal types, and Jennie first answered by stated that she prefers someone who is a "hard worker". Next up was Jisoo, who kept things simple by naming her ideal type as a "nice guy who is especially more caring for me".
Lisa was next to answer and she surprised everyone by saying that she likes "older guys" since they will be able to take care of her! And finally, Rosé was next to name her ideal type and she says that she likes someone with a "unique voice", with BIGBANG being the ones who stand out the most to her.
Given that Black Pink are still a young rookie group, we're sure that the girls will have many more life experiences in the future that will inspire more great songs!
