Thaitanium lose out on Best South East Asian Act title to Vietnam at MTV EMA’s

Thailand’s Hip-Hop collective Thaitanium missed out on the 'Best South East Asian Act' title at the MTV EMA’s held on 6 November in Rotterdam. Vietnam’s Dông Nhi took home the award instead, while GOT7 won 'Best Worldwide Act' for Korea.

Graffiti Artists pay tribute to the late Thai King

Graffiti Artists who - for most of their careers - have been working in the shadows and undercover came out in broad daylight a few weeks ago, drawing the attention of curious onlookers, including the police. Bangkok's graffiti artists joined forces to draw murals around the city in respect of the late King. 

Gong Yoo, Kazunari Ninomiya, Aaron Kwok, and 'Nak' Charlie Trairat star in Asia’s Oscar entries   

Movies from 85 countries were submitted to the 89th Oscars for Foreign Language Film Category. Nominees included Thailand's "Karma (อาบัติ)", the Buddhist-themed horror film banned for scenes that contradicted Buddhist religious practices. After the movie was 'toned down' it was allowed to show in cinemas. Let's see what the Oscars say. Other submissions include The highest grossing movie in Korea "The Age of Shadows" with Gong Yoo as leading role, "Nagasaki: Memories of My Son" with Kazunari Ninomiya, "Port of Call" with Aaron Kwok from Hong Kong, and finnaly "Hang in There, Kids" from Taiwan.

"Death Note: Light Up the New World" is finally released in theatres

After 10 years, the much anticipated movie about a mysterious notebook that contains deadly powers, "Death Note: Light Up the New World" is finally in cinemas! It was released in Japan for Halloween, and landed in Thailand on November 3. Be careful what you wish for, you might end up in that book.
