Enjoying your holiday break so far? Think convention season is still a while off yet? Well, I’m here to tell you that the first convention of 2017 is in February and you have less time than you thought.

Commence emergency preparations. GO!

Sydney will play host to RTX for a second year on February 4 and 5. For those who don’t know, RTX Sydney is a two-day gaming and Internet culture event hosted by Rooster Teeth.

If you listen to our podcast, What the Frak, then you would have heard me rambling on about how much I love Rooster Teeth. (Go back, listen to the show and then join us back here when you’ve done your homework).

So now you're up-to-date I’m going to convince you to come along and check out RTX. Hear me out, I’ve got some compelling reasons for you:

First: HIDEO KOJIMA.

This name may be ringing some bells for you. Hideo Kojima was the mastermind behind Metal Gear games as well as some other - pretty impressive - titles.

Hideo Kojima was Vice President of Konami Digital Entertainment, and is now the Director of Kojima Productions. He will be at RTX Sydney and that’s kind of a big deal.

Convinced yet? Well, maybe THIS will entice you further...

At RTX Sydney, you’ll be able to play THE NINTENDO SWITCH! Ha, you just activated my trap card! (Sweet Yu-Gi-Oh reference there, huh?)

The Nintendo Switch will be fully revealed in Japan on January 13 with a live presentation from Tokyo, but the lucky attendees of RTX Sydney will have the chance to get their hands on this new console to test and play in Aus.

It’s not yet known whether the console will be playable on the show floor but the opportunity to be among the first people in Australia to play the console is just too good to pass up.

RTX will be held at the brand-spanking-new International Convention Centre in Sydney.

Attendees from 2016’s RTX will tell you that air-conditioning was lacking at the last venue but this should make those folks super happy. Air-conditioning for all!

As a Rooster Teeth super fan, I really do hope to see you all there. There will also be panels, Q & A’s, games, cosplay and shenanigans.

If you want more information about RTX Sydney, check out the website.

Until next time, KTHNXBAI!
