The US Ambassador to Japan, Caroline Kennedy, has created a Christmas video with other staff members in Tokyo that has gained over 5 million views on YouTube.

The viral sensation was a festive take on the famous ‘Koi dance’ routine that has become Japan's answer to Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen in online virality.

In the Ambassadors version of the dance, she’s dressed in a Santa outfit and others are dressed in festive attire such as Christmas hats and jumpers.  The song is the theme to TV drama ‘Nigeru was Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu,’ which means ‘Running Away is Shameful but Useful.’

The song is one of Japan’s most popular from 2016, with over 70 million views on its YouTube MV.
