There's a lot of love for "Your Name" in South Korea!

It goes without saying that among the anime films released in 2016, perhaps the most notable one was Makoto Shinkai's latest movie "Your Name". Having recently become the highest grossing anime film ever, the critically-acclaimed movie has now broken yet another record in South Korea.

Released in South Korean cinemas on January 4, "Your Name" recently surpassed 3 million moviegoers in the country and thereby becoming the most-viewed Japanese anime film in South Korea.

Not only has "Your Name" surpassed the 2004 Studio Ghibli film "Howl's Moving Castle" as South Korea's most popular animated Japanese movie ever, it is now ranked eighth among all animated films that have been shown in the country.
