Budding Chinese pop star Rachael White sits down for a chat with her friend - and fellow Aussie - Prince Mak!

Another week and that means only one thing - Prince Mak is back on SBS PopAsia radio with "The Prince Mak Hour."

In the latest episode of his radio show, Prince Mak has decided do something different by inviting his friend Rachael White over for a chat. However, Rachael is no ordinary friend because not only is she Australian, she is also a budding Asian pop star who is trying to make it big in China!

After a quick introduction filled with all the usual Aussie colloquialisms, Prince Mak and Rachael dive into her pop star journey so far. Having moved over to China six months ago, Rachael is currently on a reality-pop show titled "Birth of a Star".

Described as essentially a Chinese version of "Produce 101", Rachael is the only Western foreigner contestant on the show but she's made a splash already by making it into the top 18 contestants. Not only has Rachael managed to do so well in just six months, she initially didn't know how to speak any Mandarin - something that Prince Mak could relate to when he debuted in Korea.

Should Rachael make it through and win "Birth of a Star", there are some big and exciting plans in the works. Unfortunately for us, she kept that knowledge close to her chest so we'll just have to wait and see!

Listen to Prince Mak's chat with Rachael right here, starting at the 26:36 mark:
