Year of the Rooster? More like year of the Rooster Teeth, amirite?! No? Okay, I’ll stop…

Massive Rooster Teeth fan? Me too! So for the last year, I’ve been counting down the days until RTX Sydney (which I finally went to on the weekend).

What is RTX? It’s basically a whole convention dedicated to the content that Austin-based production company, Rooster Teeth, puts out across social media and - for me - it was on top of my convention hit list this year.

Last year, RTX was held in a location that had NO AIRCONDITIONING. NONE!

Not the best idea, right? Imagine my delight when I found out that it was to be held at the newly finished ICC in Darling Harbour this year. Complete with brand-new everything and sweet, sweet AC!

For me, the weekend started like any other con…

It totally didn’t! This year I had managed to snag a VIP pass. SCORE!

The day before the convention, after attending a super secret Rooster Teeth production shoot, I got quite sick. (Why do these things always happen!?)

I decided that cosplaying wasn’t a good choice and opted out for some civvies instead. (Civvies are civilian clothes for those out of the loop).

Once we arrived at the convention, we bolted to the first of many panels for the day. Being able to sit in on almost every panel I wanted to see was insane. That magic VIP pass was worth it!

We got to see The Slow Mo Guys panel, The Founding Father’s panel, Achievement Hunter’s Off Topic podcast and the Rooster Teeth podcast.

My weekend was truly made when I got to meet some of the people that have inspired me to make videos and content over the years.

And it got even better when I saw them play ridiculous games on the new Nintendo Switch!

RTX Sydney was truly an unforgettable experience for me. I met new people, learnt a lot about the industry I’d love to work in one day and I got to play a bunch of awesome games!

I cannot wait until next year.
