It's Pokémon Day, hurrah!
Let's celebrate by reminiscing about the good ol' days of playing Pokémon on a Game Boy for hours and hours. Well, at least that's what I did...
1. Tapping 'A' continuously
You'd tap 'A' continuously to make sure that a Pokémon would stay in the Pokéball when you were trying to catch it. (Whether or not that was a thing that actually worked remains a mystery to this day)...It probably wasn't a thing, come to think of it.
2. Going to the Pokémon Centre
Remember going to the Pokémon Centre when you got absolutely smashed in a battle, and chatting to Nurse Joy? And by chatting, I mean furiously smashing the 'A' button to skip her "Welcome to the Pokemon Centre" speech. I'll never forget the despair of accidentally pressing the button one too many times and starting the whole speech over again...
3. Walking in Pokémon was painfully slow...
So I'm probably not alone when I say that I equipped the bike once I got it and NEVER GOT OFF IT. I rode that bicycle everywhere.
4. Picking an awful name for your nemesis
This happened at the start of the game so that whenever they popped up, you'd have a good ol' giggle about being challenged to a battle by "Ya Mum." There's a world of awful names out there for your rival, many of which I can't put into this list for...reasons.
Safe to say that Pokémon is still a massive part of people's lives (just not on a Game boy so much anymore) so go out there and catch 'em all. There's always time to become a master!
