There's so many amazing K-drama actors, who all deserve an award for their excellent performances. Here's 6 we'd love to see in Hollywood, at the Oscars.
1. Lee Joon Gi
Lee Joon Gi is an amazing talent, able to deliver top-notch performances. He did a great job portraying the complex character of Wang So in Scarlet Heart: Ryeo. He was so dedicated to the role he lost 15 kgs to appear more masculine in contrast to the character's earlier "pretty boy" scenes.
He also appeared in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, so he's already had a brush with Hollywood. Definitely wish we could see him at the Oscars.
2. Gong Yoo
We're still feeling the after-effects of "Goblin syndrome" after Gong Yoo's excellent portrayal of the titular character in popular drama Goblin.
He also had some great performances last year in zombie blockbuster Train to Busan and box office hit The Age of Shadows. With smash-hit projects like these, surely an Oscar should be next.
3. Jeon Jihyun
Best known for her memorable chic performance in My Sassy Girl, Jeon Jihyun has recently gained a resurgence in popularity due to the success of dramas such as My Love from Another Star and The Legend of the Blue Sea. She has also dabbled in a few Hollywood films such as Blood: The Last Vampire and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. It would be great to see more from her.
4. Lee Minho
Jun Ji-hyun's co-star in The Legend of the Blue Sea, Lee Minho is another amazing actor. He's got versatile skills, from comedy and action to intense emotional drama - sometimes all in one scene. Not only is he talented, he's super charming and charismatic and would make all the Hollywood ladies swoon.
5. Gong Hyojin
Gong Hyojin has shown her acting skills by playing a range of different characters from a psychiatrist with a sex phobia in It's Okay, That's Love to an unpredictable female lead with unshaven armpit hair in Love Fiction. She's not afraid to throw herself into diverse, and sometimes gritty, roles and has a refreshing approach to her acting.
6. Lee Jongsuk
Lee Jongsuk brings all his character to life with great acting finesse. He wowed in his portrayal of manhwa character Kang Chul in the hit drama W. He has also played a variety of roles in a string of popular dramas including Pinocchio, Doctor Stranger, I Can Hear Your Voice and Secret Garden.
There are heaps of other K-Drama actors we'd love to see at the Oscars (too many to list here). These are just some of our top picks.
