New Fullmetal Alchemist live action Trailer
Warner Bros. Japan has uploaded a new trailer for their live action Fullmetal Alchemist film. The short Trailer shows the young Elric brothers attempting to bring their mother back to life, and as young adults in action.
The director of the live action Ping Pong film, Fumihiko Sori will direct this live action adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga. He aims to be as faithful to the source material as possible.
“I have been wishing to create this wonderful story to life with my own hands,” Sori told Oricon magazine. “It’s not an exaggeration if I say that I live for this work. We will reproduce a world that is as close as the original manga.”
Sori’s casting of Hey! Say! Jump member Ryosuke Yamada as Edward Elric; Night’s Tightrope star, Tsubasa Honda as the automail mechanic Winry Rockbell; and actor and singer Dean Fujioka (of Yuri on Ice’s opening theme, “History Maker”) as series fan favourite, Colonel Roy Mustang, is promising.
A Western release has yet to be announced but the film will begin screening in Japanese cinemas on December 1. If you haven’t watched the series before, you can watch it on Animelab.
