Malaysian K-pop fans have a lot to look forward to when Red Velvet hold their upcoming Kuala Lumpur "Rookie" album event on April 23, but unfortunately, eager fans looking to buy tickets to the event have become targets for a wave of social media scammers.

The only way to gain entry passes to Red Velvet's upcoming "Rookie" album event is to buy a special "Rookie" album bundle. However, some fans have fallen victim to social media scammers claiming to sell tickets to Red Velvet's event without needing to buy the "Rookie" album bundle.

In response to the recent wave of ticket scams, Universal Music Malaysia have issued out a statement warning fans about false ticket sellers, saying that there are only two authorised sellers of Red Velvet's "Rookie" album bundle - Peatix and selected CD-Rama (Popular) outlets - and valid entry tickets for the group's album event will carry a unique watermark that is distinguishable from fake tickets.
