BTS' international popularity has been rapidly rising in the past year, so much so that the boys have now been praised by a fellow peer who knows all too well about having a significant international fanbase - Psy!
In a new interview ahead of his highly-anticipated comeback, the popular rapper praised BTS and their increasing popularity, saying that he is proud of their success after seeing them grow up over the years and hopes that they will keep on rising.
“BTS is very popular in other countries and I know that they will be attending the BBMA. I saw them during "Daddy" promotion and I really thought the boys would dislocate their bones when I saw them dancing like the real stage during the rehearsal.”
Given that Psy is one of the few K-pop acts who have a significant following around the world, he is well positioned to comment on BTS rapidly rising profile, saying that he and BTS are a "very unique example of success" and that "the artists that people don’t expect these kinds of results from are the ones who experience that sort of unprecedented success.”
Psy then shared some advice to BTS, saying that the boys no need to feel burdened as they've already established themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
“I want to tell them, that regardless of how long they promote overseas, to not feel burdened. They’ve already established that they are artists worthy of recognition in Asia.”
As for BTS, they showed some love back for Psy by tweeting about the rapper's two comeback singles "New Face" and "I Luv It."
Loving the respect shown between PSY and BTS!
