Joey and Aki Dearest have some ... strong thoughts about Eromanga Sensei (especially Joey).

Every Monday, YouTubers Joey the Anime Man and Aki Dearest join forces to bring you The Anime Show, an hour that covers what’s hot, what’s not, what’s new and what you should be watching in the world of anime!

In the latest episode, Joey and Aki watched Eromanga Sensei and decided to share their thoughts about it. Putting it bluntly, Joey absolutely did not like it as not only does it dive deep into the "little sister" trope (which he hates), it does it in a very poor manner that makes the characters into annoying figures that have no logic behind their actions and motivations. To paraphrase Joey, it is "trash content" that is essentially a reskinned version of Oreimo and he wishes people will stop making anime revolving around the "little sister trope."

As for Aki, she didn't think so poorly of Eromanga Sensei but she isn't holding out much hope for it as the first episode essentially ruined a lot of foreshadowing that could've been better doled out across multiple episodes. Couple that with main characters that barely have any distinct personality, Aki isn't a big fan of Eromanga Sensei - she's just less hostile towards it compared to Joey!
