Jay Park has established himself as a bonafide solo musical force in the part few years, and now he has his eyes set on a new venture - a brand new international record label called H1GHR MUSIC RECORDS.

In a new interview with The Cut, the rapper opened up about his initial struggles following his departure from 2PM, revealing that there was a lot of doubt from many people about the future direction of his career, including his parents and colleagues. However, Park held firm and believed in the notion of hard work within his own personal artistic vision would pay off, and it ultimately did in the establishment of his own label AOMG.

As his own label AOMG has flourished in the past couple of years, Park saw an opportunity to help out rising artists and this led to the establishment of his new record label H1GHR MUSIC RECORDS with his long-time partner Cha Cha Malone. This new label has a different approach compared to AOMG, with emphasis on finding international talent. Park reveals that he's been in touch with Seattle-based hip-hop artists for the first time before saying that the city is a frustrating place for rising musicians due to the lack of exposure.

Ultimately, Park hopes to give rising international hip-hop artists an opportunity to get their work out to the public, as well as creating a connected community worldwide through hip-hop.
