Less than a year following their debut, 5-member rookie girl group Bulldok will be losing one of its members.
According to a new report, KCONIC Entertainment announced that member Hyeongeun will be leaving the group due to health issues, and while that the decision was made back in March, the company decided to announce it today. As for the future of Bulldok, the girls will continue on as a 4-member group.
Bulldok first debuted last October, with 4 of its members, Genie, Kim, Say, and Hyeongeun, having been contestants on the first season of Mnet's "Produce 101." Just recently, Hyeongeun was at the centre of some controversy following her comments about BTS and V.
The rapper was on a broadcast with a few other people and upon being asked a question about BTS by a viewer, Hyeongeun was heard replying with "I lost interest in them."
After quickly saying she was kidding and that she likes BTS, viewers then noticed that Hyeongeun didn't refer to BTS using the correct honourific "sunbae."
The controversy grew further when one of the males on the broadcast asked about V, to which the second female guest was heard saying that BTS were "practicing so hard that it looked like they had athlete's feet." Following those comments, viewers weren't too happy that Hyeongeun let her friend talk about V and BTS in an unrespectful manner.
Hyeongeun has since issued out an apology on her official Instagram account, writing that she was sincerely sorry for her comments towards BTS.
At the time of writing, Hyeongeun has deleted all her Instagram posts and her account has been set to private.
