BTS made history when they took home the Top Social Artist award at the Billboard Music Awards earlier this week. It was an exciting moment for fans, but what was really amazing was all the Western artists that BTS got to meet at the ceremony. The boys spent time with a bunch of chart-topping stars, from The Chainsmokers and Halsey, to Steve Aoki. It got me thinking about which western artists BTS should collaborate with if they ever get the chance! Check out my top six below, and let us know who you think!

Sia

Australia’s own Sia isn’t just one of the world’s biggest artists, she’s one of the top songwriters too. The “Chandelier” hitmaker has penned hit songs for countless artists of various genres, proving that she has the versatility to work with a K-pop group like BTS. Sia could write a song for the boys, and sing the chorus on it too!

Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is known for her advocacy, having spoken out (and sung about!) her own mental health struggles, addiction, LGBT rights and more. Because BTS are also known for their socially-conscious lyrics, we’re sure that they could get together with Demi and create something with an empowering and inspirational message for all of their fans.

James Blake

Rap Monster has listed British artist James Blake as one of his dream collaborations. While James is more on the alternative side, his sound would definitely match one of BTS’ more experimental b-side tracks. Because James is both a singer and a producer, we can totally imagine him creating a unique beat for BTS to showcase a different side of the band’s sound.

Nicki Minaj

Female rapper Iggy Azalea recently collaborated with Brazilian pop princess Anitta on her single “Switch.” So wouldn’t it be great if Nicki Minaj followed her lead by working with a famous international artist too? And who better than BTS, who are already known for their extensive use of hip-hop in their music.

Kehlani

Rap Monster has gushed about Kehlani before, and Kehlani has returned the love back! In March, she told the band to ‘holla at me,’ which is pretty close to an invitation to collaborate. So, with both stars on board, what are they waiting for?

Max Martin

Max Martin is the biggest hitmaker in pop music and has been on top since the late nineties. Any pop star you can think of, he's probably worked with, including one of Rap Monster’s faves, The Weeknd! If BTS ever drop an English-language single for the global market, I can totally see It being a Weeknd-style smash produced by Max Martin. It'd be huge!
