This week's Gaon Chart is all about TWICE! Their new single “Signal” debuts at No. 1, becoming their fourth consecutive title track to do so. The girls have topped the chart with every single they've released except their debut “Like Ooh-Aah” which peaked at No. 10.
Over on the album chart, the Signal EP debuts at No. 1, becoming the group's third album to take the top spot. It also broke the record for the highest first-week sales from a girl group with 114,000 copies logged on the Hanteo Chart.
TWICE even top Gaon’s Social Chart this week, proving that their popularity has no bounds.
Back on the singles chart, PSY’s “I Luv It” slips two spots to No. 3 after spending one week on top. Project group Unnies climb two spots to No. 2 with “Right,” while Suran’s hit “Wine,” produced by BTS’ Suga, holds steady at No. 4.
While Western songs don't often chart high in Korea, it appears that Ed Sheeran has a hit on his hands with “Shape of You.” The song jumps fourteen spots this week to No. 8.
Just outside the top ten is VIXX with “Shangri-La.” The song debuts at No. 13, making it one of the better charting singles of their career. Over on the Album Chart, their EP of the same name debuts at No. 2, just narrowly missing the top spot due to TWICE.
Next week, look for new entries from iKON, SEVENTEEN, and more.
