F.T. Island returns with debut remake "Love Sick"
Idol rock band F.T. Island (Five Treasure Island) has returned with a remake of their debut song “Love Sick” in celebration of their tenth anniversary this year.
“Love Sick” was an instant hit back in 2007, topping the K-Pop charts for eight straight weeks. The new, less rocky version featuring ballad singer Kim Na-young has won the hearts of their fans too, managing to take the first spot on not only the Korean music charts, but also the Chinese music charts.
“Love Sick” is a pre-release of F.T. Island's 10-year anniversary album “OVER 10 YEARS”, which will be unveiled on June 7th, the exact day of their anniversary.
BTS Wins "Top Social Artist" at 2017 Billboard Music Awards
Arguably one of the hottest idol K-pop boy groups that have made it abroad, BTS prove their rapidly rising fame by winning the ‘Top Social Artist’ award at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.
At a press conference in Seoul Monday, the seven-member group thanked their fans and said it feels surreal winning this award, adding that being nominated alongside superstars they have always looked up to was an honour.
BTS beat Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes for the ‘Top Social Artist’ award, which is rated by the combined data of sales of albums and digital songs in the last year, number of radio appearances, concerts, as well as global fan votes. In an impressive display from BTS' fandom, the group received more than 300 million votes via hashtag from their fans, which contributed to their big win.
See you in two years, Beenzino
Rapper Beenzino will disappear from the music scene for a while as he enlisted himself into his mandatory military service on Monday, and just like he promised, the rapper released an album as a gift to his fans on the same day.
“Waves Like” is a collaboration with longtime producer Shimmy Twice - two together are known as “Jazzyfact” - and there had been calls for a new album from the duo ever since Shimmy Twice finished his military three years ago.
