Japanese voice actress Shizuka Itoh is coming to SMASH! 2017. This will be Itoh’s first SMASH appearance.

Itoh is most well known for being the voice of Sailor Venus (Sailor Moon Crystal), Lenalee Lee (D. Gray Man) and Yayoi Kunizuka (PsychoPass). Some of her other roles include: Koko Hekmatyar (Jormungand), Himawari Kunogi (XXXHolic), Rachel (Baccano), Flare Corona (Fairy Tail) and Luviagelita Edelfelt (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei!, Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works). Itoh has also extended her voice to characters in video games, such as Overwatch, Nioh, Suikoden IV and Metroid: Other M.

According to SMASH! President Andrew Quu, Itoh is the second Sailor Moon voice actress to appear at the convention, and, "reflects the quality of industry guests."

“We are absolutely delighted to have a talented guest like Shizuka Itoh for SMASH! 2017,” Qiu said in a statement.

“The animation industry has so much to offer and it is not often that we get to learn about the people and the process beyond the surface. With Shizuka Itoh’s portfolio, this is a great chance for Australian anime fans to learn about the industry and her journey as a voice actor.”

Shizuka Itoh joins the current lineup of SMASH! 2017 guests, including Chinese queer cosplay couple, Baozi & Hana and Japanese voice actor Daisuke Sakaguchi (Clannad, Baccano, Gintama). The Sydney manga and anime Show will be held at Rosehill Gardens on August 19-20.
