Yuri on Ice characters have appeared in a recent issue of Steven Universe, an American animated series. The show’s main characters, Yuri, Victor, Yurio and Otabek are seen frolicking in the background of preparations for a jousting competition.

Cowboy Bebop’s Spike Spiegel also made a cameo in the daily US comic strip, Sally Forth. A live action TV series adaption of Cowboy Bebop written by Chris Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok) was recently announced.

Studio MAPPA’s Yuri on Ice is a hugely popular sports anime drama about an ice-skating competition. The series has been praised for its attention to diversity and queer representation, winning Crunchyroll’s anime of the year award in 2016, and getting a feature movie.

Steven Universe is an action fantasy animation series by Rebecca Sugar and Cartoon Network. The series follows Steven, a half-human and half-Gem (a magical being) tasked with guarding the universe.
