SISTAR have disbanded, but the girl group have gone out on top of their game. This week, their farewell single “Lonely” tops the Gaon Digital Chart, becoming their tenth consecutive single to do so (when including their SISTAR19 sub-unit).
Since 2011’s “So Cool,” SISTAR have topped the charts with every lead single they've ever released. They are currently tied in second place with BIGBANG and 2NE1 for the most No. 1 songs on the Gaon Chart.
Outside of SISTAR, HIGHLIGHT make an impressive debut with “Calling You” arriving at No. 3. Their repackaged EP, also titled Calling You, enters at No. 2 on the Album Chart.
Baek A Yeon continues to impress this week as her new ballad “Sweet Lies” debuts at No. 5. In recent years, the JYP Entertainment songstress has emerged as one of K-pop’s more successful female soloists.
The Produce 101 boys continue to kill it as their new promo track “Never” debuts at No. 15. The song has been performing exceptionally well on Melon’s digital chart, so expect this to rise next week. They've also got a handful of other songs in the top 100 this week, proving their huge popularity.
Pop-rock band FT Island’s 10th anniversary single “Lovesick” arrives at No. 18. It's the veteran group's highest charting single in three years.
Meanwhile, solo singer Suran comes in at No. 45 with her Dean-assisted single “1+1=0.” It's quite a drop for Suran, who recently reached No. 2 on the charts with her mega-hit “Wine.”
Last, but not least, is rising boy band ASTRO. Their latest single “Baby” misses the top 100, but their new EP, Dream Part 01, tops the album chart to become their first No. 1 album. It's already sold approximately 77,000 copies, which is a huge achievement for a rookie group.
Next week, look for new entries from Cosmic Girls, Kim Chungha, and G-Dragon.
