With reports surfacing that T.O.P is showing improvementSBS PopAsia has reached out to Korean TV star Sam Hammington, who resides in South Korea, for an update on the BIGBANG rapper's condition.

After recapping the events of the past couple of days, Hammington has provided some new information on T.O.P's current state.

Here's the latest update on the BIGBANG rapper's condition:

"Earlier on [yesterday], T.O.P's mother said that he's started to be responsive for the first time in the last 4 days. At the moment, it looks like things are starting to get better for him, but we've yet to hear anything from representatives at the hospital, and we'll have to wait and see now.

From what [T.O.P's] mother has come out and said earlier on [yesterday], she had seen an improvement. He had actually opened his eyes and she has managed to have eye contact with him. The hospital has not made an official announcement, but their take was that it was not as serious as some people initially thought. We'll just have to wait and see what's going to happen with that right now."

As for T.O.P's military service, Hammington also provided an update:

"In terms of the investigation, and in terms of [T.O.P's] military service, nothing has changed there. In fact, [Sam thinks] today they said that as soon as he will be released from hospital, he will be going home because his military service is cancelled. At the moment, everyone is hoping that he gets well enough so he can leave hospital under his own 2 feet and investigations that have to happen will happen after that.

In fact, YG came out [yesterday] and made a statement saying that they're hoping for a speedy recovery, and after that they will accept all the consequences that will result."
