Following reports earlier this year that YG Entertainment will be debuting a new boy group in 2017, it appears that the plan have changed slightly.

According to new reports, YG have decided to change up its original plan of debuting a new boy group with "K-pop Star 2" runner-up Bang Ye Dam by launching a brand new survival program for the second half of 2017.

This new survival competition show will reportedly feature 30 YG trainees battling out for a spot in YG's new boy group, and it is expected that the program will be similar to those that resulted in iKON and WINNER. It is also reported that the show will be headed by "Produce 101" and "Show Me The Money" producer Han Dong Chul, who recently signed a contract with YG.

As for Bang Ye Dam, it is reported that he will be part of the show as a host, though it is not yet confirmed whether the "K-pop Star 2" runner-up will be part of the competition as well or if he is already been given a spot in YG's new boy group.
