It’s only a minute long preview serving as the soundtrack for a water commercial, but new music from Utada Hikaru demands coverage, so here you go!

About half a year since releasing her comeback album Fantome, Utada has more new songs around the corner. She’s previewing one in a commercial for bottled water, which you can hear below. The clip also stars Utada, who hikes through a mountain. She talks to herself about wanting to eat noodles, says hello to a hawk and takes several glugs of water over the minute-long ad.

There isn’t much to go off of, but the song itself offers up one of the more upbeat tunes from Utada, who spent the bulk of Fantome wrestling with the onset of adulthood via slow-burning ballads. This new number leans closer to “Michi,” a galloping number highlighted by a bouncy chorus (and, oddly enough, also serving as a promo number for staying hydrated). The verses move at a more relaxed pace, guided by guitar notes, but then everything opens up and Utada lets her voice rise up. What we can assume is the chorus comes in, and it’s an active, energetic core that makes us want to hear the final version.

But that will have to wait until July 10, when the complete version comes out.
