2NE1 may (sadly) be no more, but the group's popularity continues to thrive despite their disbandment!
Despite having no promotions, releases, or activities of any kind, fans have noticed that 2NE1 were one of the top Twitter trends going around in Korea a few hours ago (at the time of writing).
Furthermore, fans have also noticed that 2NE1 have charted once again on the top searches on the Korean music site Melon, coming in between No.1 and No.2.
While we can probably attribute this popularity spike to 2NE1 just being 2NE1, there is some speculation that 2NE1's resurgence is due to the recent comeback of their sister group Black Pink, who dropped their already-mega-successful new single "As If It's Your Last" just a few hours ago. Given how fans have said that 2NE1 and Black Pink share a similar aesthetic and sound, this is a pretty plausible explanation into 2NE1's popularity spike.
While we try to figure out just why 2NE1 have started popping up all over the place (again), let's ponder over it while watching Black Pink's new "As If It's Your Last" MV:
