Jay Park's music label, AOMG, has grown into one of the most well-known Korean hip-hop agencies since its inception in 2013. While it currently boasts an impressive artist line-up that includes Jay Park himself, Simon Dominic, Gray, Cha Cha Malone, and Loco, there was a moment in time where a few of the biggest singers and producers in K-pop had the chance to join the label.
In a new interview, Park talked about the early days during the formation of AOMG and artists who he wanted to join his new label. At the time, Crush was mega-popular and despite Park asking Crush to join AOMG, the singer had offers from other companies at the time and he ultimately signed with Amoeba Culture.
Perhaps the most interesting part of Park's story was his interest in recruiting Block B's Zico. During Park's recruitment drive of artists for AOMG, Zico was approached with an offer to join the young label. However, Zico ultimately turned down Park's offer as he wanted to stick with Block B.
