If you can't get enough of K-pop survival shows like Produce 101 and Boys24, then you're in luck because another one is right around the corner!
In October, KBS will launch The Final 99 Match, a new survival show that will see 500 'failed' idols (250 male, 250 female) competing for a second chance at K-pop stardom. The finalists; 9 male and 9 female, will then get to re-debut in the new male or female group.
The show will be different from others in that there will be no trainees allowed. Only idols who have already debuted will be allowed to compete.
Producers are reportedly hoping to get the legendary Rain on board to host, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
The Final 99 Match is just the latest entry in the increasingly crowded idol survival show genre. In addition to Produce 101 and Boys 24, Mnet is currently airing Idol School to launch a new girl group. Other successful survival shows over the years have included, MyDOL, No Mercy, Win: Who is Next, and SIXTEEN.
