It's safe to say that Seo Taiji and Boys were the defining Korean artists of the 1990s, so it makes sense for them to collaborate with one of the biggest K-pop groups of the 2010s, BTS!
BTS have recorded a cover of the veteran group's 1995 gangster rap classic "Come Back Home" for Seo Taiji's new collaboration album, Seo Taiji 25 Project [Time: Traveler]. The "Fire" hitmakers offer a modernised take on the track whilst still staying true to the original sound, making it a perfect remake - and everybody seems to agree.
"Come Back Home" has been receiving praise online since its release last night, with fans and industry folk alike agreeing that BTS did Seo Taiji's hip-hop classic justice.
"V. cool to see how @BTS_twt reinterpreted the iconic #ComeBackHome by Seo Taiji & Boys," tweeted Billboard journalist Tamar Herman.
"I finally had time to listen to the Seo Taiji collaboration with BTS song and omg it's so good!!!!! So so good!!! Come Back Home is so good!," tweeted user @shadow_1804.
The song is also being well received in Korea, with Netizenbuzz translating a bunch of gushing comments from impressed netizens.
"Seo Taiji fan here. Out of all the covers I've seen for this song, BTS did it the best. I don't know who they are but I give them props," wrote one.
Another gushed: "The rap is well written, vocals are great, quality overall is great. Talk about one hell of a cover. I have it on repeat because it's so good. Can't believe such a great song came out of their busy schedule... amazing."
