Thousands of Korean men and women were surveyed; did your favourite K-pop artists make the cut?
5 Jul 2017 - 12:56 PM  UPDATED 5 Jul 2017 - 1:59 PM

The 1st half of 2017 saw quite the number of fantastic releases from several popular K-pop groups, and with the 2nd half of the year now officially kicking off, here's the big question - who were the most popular K-pop idols for 2017 (so far)?

In a new survey conducted by research company Pimy Eye (PMI), over 5,000 Korean men and women between the ages of 20 to 50 about their favourite K-pop idols in 2017 so far. After all the votes from the survey platform Tilian were tallied up, the many nominees were narrowed down to just 3. Without further ado, here they are:

3. MAMAMOO (15.5% of votes)

The girls recently made their 1st 2017 comeback with "Yes I Am," which has already been a major chart success and a big winner on Korean music shows.

2. BTS (20.4% of votes)

Following the release of "WINGS: You Never Walk Alone" in February, BTS have had a massive last few months with the launch of their massively-popular world tour, impressive sales, and some recognition at the Billboard Music Awards.

1. TWICE (33.7% of votes)

Having already made two highly-successful comebacks in 2017 with "Knock Knock" and "Signal," not to mention their highly-anticipated Japanese debut just a few days ago, TWICE were comfortably named 2017's most popular K-pop act so far!

A big congrats to TWICE, BTS, and MAMAMOO for being the most popular K-pop acts of 2017 (so far)!
