Fans everywhere were devastated when Produce 101's Kim Samuel failed to make it into Wanna One, but thankfully the future is looking bright for the young star.

The 15-year-old is currently working on his first mini-album, and helping him out on the project is none other than former I.O.I member Kim Chungha. Naver reports that the Produce 101 stars have teamed up for a duet, which is said to be in the hip-hop and R&B genre.

Samuel's solo album will have five tracks, and has been described as having an urban-pop sound similar to Chris Brown and Justin Bieber

The talented star already has a tonne of experience on stage after originally debuting back in early 2015 as part of the hip-hop duo 1Punch.

In other news, Chungha is currently slaying the Gaon chart with her solo single "Why Don't You Know," which has so far peaked at No. 14.
