There's been a lot of talk about The Final 99 Match, the upcoming KBS survivial show for 'failed' idols. After NU'EST's success on Produce 101, many K-pop fans have been waiting to find out which idol groups will compete on the new KBS series.

On Friday, boy band BIGSTAR were announced as the first group to join The Final 99 Match. All the members have signed on, with the exception of Baram, who is currently serving in the military.

For anyone unfamiliar with BIGSTAR, the five-member group was formed in 2012 by producer Brave Brothers. They released a number of unsuccessful singles, with their last, "Full Moon Shine," coming out almost two years ago.

The group's most known member is FeelDog, who recently made headlines after it was revealed that he's dating SISTAR's Bora. The 25-year-old competed on the Mnet reality show Hit The Stage last year, and had a hit collaboration in 2013 with EXID's Le and HIGHLIGHT'S Junhyung called "You Got Some Nerve."

The Final 99 Match will premiere in October. The survival show will see 500 'failed' idols (250 male, 250 female) competing for a second chance at K-pop stardom. The finalists; 9 male and 9 female, will then get to re-debut in the new male or female group.

Producers are reportedly hoping to get the legendary Rain on board to host, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
