According to SMASH!, video game composer Hiroaki Yura will join the 2017 convention.

Yura is an Australian violinist, recording orchestral music for video game and animation productions (Diablo III, Soul Calibur V, Project Pheonix, Romeo x Juliet). He’s currently the CEO of Creative Intelligence Arts, founded and directed the Eminence Sydney Orchestra, and acted as Conducting Director for Steins;Gate: The Movie - Load Region Déjá Vu. He recently produced and kickstarted the OVA, Under the Dog, too.

Yura officially first attended SMASH! In 2015, making a return to showcase his upcoming turn-based war game, Tiny Metal. According to SMASH! President Andrew Qiu, there is a “huge demand to deliver unique gaming content” at pop-culture conventions.

“Here at SMASH!, we like to exhibit previews of the latest mainstream games, and host gaming tournaments for our attendees to enjoy,” Qiu says.

In addition to this, SMASH! is also passionate about game development and showcasing local talent. Not only do we value the importance of showcasing games created by Australian game developers, but from Japan as well...We cannot wait to see what Hiroaki and his team has in store for us with their latest gaming project.”

Yura joins the current lineup of guests: queer cosplay couple Baozi & Hana; voice actors Daisuke Sakaguchi (Gintama, Clannad, Persona 5), Shitori Itoh (Sailor Moon, PsychoPass, Overwatch) and Shiori Mikami (Attack on Titan, YuruYuri, Btooom!); manga and character design artists Asami Hagiwara (Bye-Bye Humanity) and Redjuice (Guilty Crown, Hatsune Miku’s Supercell); and Japanese DJs, TeddyLoid and Yui Kanan, who will be performing at an after hours event.

SMASH! 2017 will be held at the Rosehill Gardens on August 19-20
