Kris Wu may be a bonafide superstar on the music stage, but he has steadily carved out a career in the movie business of late with his appearances in this year's xXx: Return of Xander Cage and Journey To The West: The Demons Strike Back. The singer will have his 3rd movie of 2017 out soon, titled Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, but it looks like critics aren't the biggest fans of it so far.

The sci-fi fantasy film features Kris Wu in the role of Captain Neza, and he stars alongside Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne in this reported $180 million movie, which tells the story of a team of 28th century operatives tasked with maintaining order throughout human territories.

The review embargo has lifted on the Luc Besson-directed epic, and the first few reviews of the movie have been mixed to say the least. Over at the review site Metacritic, which tabulates all the reviews for each movie, Valarian is currently sitting on a score of 47/100 based off 13 reviews at the time of writing. Of course, there is still a week before the movie is released on July 21 so there are still more reviews coming in.

While we wait until Valarian is released on July 21, check out the trailer for it right here and let us know what you think.
