Girls' Generation has made it to number one on Billboard’s “10 Best K-Pop Girl Groups of the Past Decade: Critic’s Picks” list. Billboard cited the group’s, “tightly produced pop songs and vibrant femininity” for their success, and that despite individual activities, as well as one member’s leave, the girls are showing no signs of slowing down.

Others on the list were 2NE1, who came second, followed by Wonder Girls, Brown Eyed Girls and After School.

Girls’ Generation has not only been ranked as the best K-pop girl group of the past decade, they are expected to release a 10-year anniversary special album next month to celebrate 10 years since their debut.

EXO comes back with big goals

EXO is back with Ko Ko Bop! That’s the SM Entertainment boy group’s new title song, which will be released tonight, along with their fourth full-length album named The War. From the music video and image teasers, there’s nothing war-like going on, but a lot of colour, tropical vibes and upbeat sounds. It may be a war though to get copies of their new album, as more than 800,000 albums have already been pre-ordered (previously they recorded 660,000 pre-orders for ‘Ex-Act’). EXO is striving for more fresh records, as they aim for their fourth album to become another million-selling album.

BIGBANG’S Seungri wins martial arts medals

Big Bang member Seungri has had a victory in - no, not a chart for any of his solo songs or anything music related - but in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu; a form of martial arts. The 26-year-old posted a picture on his Instagram yesterday, in a white uniform, with a silver and bronze medal around his neck. It appeared to have been his first Jiu-jitsu tournament, which FT Island’s Choi Jong-hoon also mentioned on his Instagram, posting a picture of himself and Seungri, complimenting his friend. Seungri has a black belt in Taekwondo too, and is known for his various activities outside of the music world.
